With pleasure, I invite you to come and see Lake Iezer, also known as the pearl of the Alps, which is located in the Călimani Mountains at an altitude of 1730 m. Some tourists call it a bottomless lake. According to legend, a lead duck was thrown into the lake and found years later in the Black Sea. Lake Iezer has an area of 0.13 ha and a depth between 3 and 5 m. It is a lake left from the last glaciation, formed instead of a terminal moraine, where deposits of debris formed an impermeable layer, behind which the lake. It is fed by two springs, and the water from the lake flows into the Puturosul brook. From here you can climb in about 30 minutes to the Athenaeum Cross, which is located on the ridge route of the Iezer Mountains - Puppet, marked with a red stripe. Iezer Lake can be reached starting from Cabana Voina on 2 routes: blue dot, in about 4 hours, and blue cross, in about 5 hours, the latter being the one indicated in winter.
