The first spa complex was built in 1843, two years later with 637 patients registered for treatment. What to visit in Bazna resort?
I recommend you visit Bethlen Castle which has a typical renaissance plan, consisting of a compact, rectangular volume, without an inner courtyard, with 5 covered towers. Of these, four are circular and placed at the corners, and have oil holes at the top. The fifth tower, attached to one of the secondary facades, has an octagonal shape and houses a secondary wooden staircase, beautifully preserved today.
The plan type of the castle from Cetatea de Baltă is also found at the noble residences from Gilău, Iernut and Medieșul Aurit, but in all these cases the buildings benefit from an inner courtyard. Without the inner courtyard are the buildings from Sânmiclăuș and Ozd.
The fortified church was built in the 15th century. A century later it was fortified by the addition of an enclosure wall and defense towers. The entrance to the church is made under the bell tower that still houses today, after almost seven centuries, three bells, all made before the reform. The church also stands out for its rare works of art.
The mineral waters, the sapropelic mud, the salt of Bazna, the favorable climatic conditions, but also the picturesque landscape are some of the reasons to reach Bazna, for maintenance and various treatments.
Bazna is also a suitable destination for those who want to relax in the middle of nature or for lovers of exercise, who can enjoy hiking or cycling on the hills with orchards and in the beech forests that surround the town.
